Come join the fun with Michelle Withrow, hike leader and expert edible plants and mushroom forager! We’ll meet at 10:00 to discuss common beginner edible plants and mushrooms in Georgia and then walk the beautiful acreage at Foxfire Museum to search for wild edible plants and mushrooms. We will discuss and identify any edible plants and mushrooms we find and enjoy a great day in the beautiful outdoors. This walk will be appropriate for older kids and teens also as we will cover about a half mile to a mile loop of the property. No pets please. Feel free to bring a snack- apples are great walking treats-and a water bottle is advised. Bug spray, rain gear and good walking shoes also recommended. Heavy rain will cancel, but since mushrooms like a nice watery drizzle, a warm Spring shower will not cancel our fun!
