Earth Day Kids’ Nature Walk

$5.00Celebrate Earth Day outdoors with us on the trails at Foxfire! Join us for a gentle hike for young naturalists of all ages as we explore our natural surroundings together. We’ll look and listen for birds and bugs, identify trees and useful plants, hunt for mushrooms and animals tracks, and play in the brand new children’s cabins at Foxfire. Kids will also get to make a special nature-inspired keepsake to commemorate Earth Day 2023.
Outdoor Preparedness
Participants should feel comfortable walking at a gentle pace. Please wear closed-toe shoes with socks and long pants/sleeves to protect against poison ivy and insects. Feel free to bring a water bottle, notebook and pen, backpack, brimmed hat, light rain jacket, bug spray, sun protection, your favorite guidebook, and anything else you may need to feel comfortable outdoors.
About the Instructor: Cara-Lee Langston, M.S.
Cara-Lee Langston is a South African-born nutritionist, herbalist, wellness cook, forager, and educator. She holds an undergraduate degree in Exercise Science from Georgia State University, a Certificate in Medical Herbalism from the BotanoLogos School of Herbal Studies, a Master’s Degree in Nutrition and Integrative Health from the Maryland University of Integrative Health, and is a Certified Wild Mushroom Food Safety Specialist through Mushroom Mountain.
Cara strives to build relationships with local growers and wildcrafters and engage community interest in integrative health and wellness. Based in the Northeast Georgia Mountains, Cara-Lee provides food and nature-based education and nutrition services for children and adults through her company, Wildcraft Kitchen.
