🌿🌸 SAVE THE DATE! Foxfire’s Native Plant Weekend 🌸🌿
April 17 · 18 · 19
Each April, native wildflowers bloom across the forest floor at Foxfire — including trillium, bloodroot, Dutchman’s breeches, bluebells, and violets. It’s one of the prettiest times of year on the mountain, and we’d love for you to celebrate it with us.
Throughout the weekend, the Village will be alive with:
• Guided native plant walks with Adam Bigelow of Bigelow’s Botanical Excursions, Ben Banick, Faith Williams of the Blue Ridge Bartram Trail Conservancy, Lou Stone, and Skye Cahoon of Mainspring Conservation Trust
• Woodland presentation with Ellen Honeycutt of the Georgia Native Plant Society
• “Ask a Master Gardener” table
• Indigo dyeing with Kelly Coldren
• Pottery demonstrations with Georgann Lanich
• Woodworking demonstration with Ben Banick
• Bark-to-basket demonstration with Andrew Lee of The Primitive Arts
• Flintknapping and pine tar glue demonstration with Jim Enloe
• Woodcarving demonstration with Brian Ledford
Come wander the trails, learn something new, enjoy Mother Nature’s springtime gems, and experience Foxfire in full bloom.
Mark your calendar now — we can’t wait to see you on the mountain! 🌿✨
