Join blacksmith John Scroggin at the Foxfire forge for a hands-on introduction to blacksmithing. Under his guidance, you’ll learn how to use fire, hammer, and anvil to transform raw steel into a piece that’s both practical and artful.
In this beginner-friendly class, you’ll create your own Appalachian-inspired piece and experience the satisfaction of forging by hand. No prior experience is required, and all tools and materials are included.
Min age is 13. If under 18, parent/guardian required to be present with the student during class for observing only, not participating. Class fee includes admission for both the youth and accompanying adult.
