The Mountaineer Festival is Foxfire’s biggest fundraiser of the year. We are especially grateful to all of our supporters who make this event possible. Your participation helps us preserve and share Appalachian heritage for generations to come.
Mountaineer Festival 2026
Celebrate Appalachian culture and community at Foxfire’s annual Mountaineer Festival, held the first Saturday of every October. This year’s festival takes place Saturday, October 3, 2026, from 10 a.m.–4 p.m. at the Rabun County Civic Center Pavilions in Clayton, Georgia.
The festival features traditional craft and heritage demonstrations, live music, crosscut saw competitions, children’s activities, food, and more than 50 regional craft and artisan vendors. Visitors can meet skilled makers and demonstrators while experiencing the traditions, skills, and stories Foxfire has worked to document and preserve for 60 years.
Admission is $10 for adults ages 16 and older, $5 for children ages 6–15, and free for children 5 and under.
