Beginning Weaving

During this two-day (September 5-6) introduction to weaving, taught by resident weaver Sharon Grist, students will learn the mechanics of floor looms, the process of making a warp, how to properly thread heddles and reeds, dressing the loom, winding a proper bobbin, hem-stitching the fabric, and more! Students will weave a twill sampler runner on which they will explore numerous treadling variations on one basic threading sequence. No experience is necessary.

Class fee includes two days of instruction (9:30 am – 4:00 pm each day), use of studio equipment, all weaving materials, and instructional hand-outs. Be sure to bring your lunch each day!
