A sampler quilt made for 35th anniversary of Foxfire. The quilt is made of 36 blocks of various patterns. The quilt is made like a friendship quilt–the blocks were individually made by different individuals. The corner blocks are made identical or similar log cabin patterns made with small calico printed cotton. Other blocks are made from printed cottons. One square is a framed cross stitch pattern. The patterns include log cabin, split rail fence, churn dasher/monkey wrench, grandmother’s garden, six-pointed star, star variations, triangles, blocks, and others (not identified. The center block has “35” and “1966-2001” appliqued inside a border of small log cabin blocks. Sashing, binding, and backing is made with ecru cotton. The quilting is hand-done and stitching outlines patterns. Some pieces have names written on them. These include: Roba Keener, Peggy Carroll, D. Pierce, Marie Carter.
