SUMMARY:Community Dye Day
DESCRIPTION:Join us for Community Dye Day with Kelly Coldren this Saturday\, August 16 at Foxfire! \n\n\n\nCome visit Foxfire from 9 am – 1 pm and bring something white and 100% cotton: tote bags\, bandanas\, t-shirts\, pillowcases\, socks\, or any small fun items as long as it’s 100% cotton\, and watch it transform in our rich\, blue indigo dye pot ~ \n\n\n\nIndigo dyeing has deep roots in Appalachia\, where communities used plant-based dyes to color cloth long before synthetic dyes existed. This hands-on tradition connects us to generations of makers who brought beauty and creativity to everyday life. \n\n\n\nDrop your item in the indigo pot at the start of your self-guided tour\, explore the Foxfire Museum\, and pick it up at the end and now transformed into a one-of-a-kind keepsake! \n\n\n\nNo registration required; free with general admission to the museum. \n\n\n\nIt’s a really lovely way to spend a Saturday with your family\, and we hope to see you here!
