Foxfire Story Book Release

Join us on April 25th from 1:00pm to 3:00pm for the official book release of the new Foxfire Story: Oral Tradition in Southern Appalachia, featuring the book’s editor folklorist T. J. Smith, president and executive director at The Foxfire Museum and Heritage Center. Copies of this newest Foxfire book will be available on hand from Foxfire as well as a special edition Foxfire shirt, featuring the book’s cover art. 100% of the proceeds from the sale of the books and shirts will go directly to Foxfire. The new book covers approximately 150 years of storytelling traditions in Southern Appalachia as recorded by Foxfire students beginning in 1966. T. J. will be on hand to chat with folks and sign books for the first hour and will then be making a presentation on folklore and storytelling that will include audio recordings featured in the book.
