Textile Art from Southern Appalachia: The Quiet Work of Women

Years of research, traveling, and interviews have resulted in a visually stunning collection of 44 woven coverlets and 2 woven quilts along with the personal histories of the western North Carolina, eastern Kentucky and Tennesee, and southwestern Virginia women who created them. This book stimulates a new respect and appreciation for the artistic excellence and long tradition of mountain coverlet hand weaving.
