Necessity may have been the mother of invention, but today the art of rug hooking has gone from functional (keeping our tootsies warm) to a fascinating fiber art of pillows, dolls, bags - the list is endless. Hooking is actually a very simple concept - stick the hook through the hole, catch a piece of wool fabric or length of wool yarn, and pull up a loop, repeat, repeat, repeat. Rug hooking is a great hobby because you can make it as challenging as you want. If you find primitives relaxing, you can continue with primitives, but if you want a challenge, you can go on to more advanced projects. Ideas can come from anywhere!
